AMARAVATI: Polavaram Updates- Despite being busy with Padayatra, opposition leader YS Jagan is not leaving a stone unturned, when it comes to targeting the State government. As per the latest inputs received from the YSRCP camp, the opposition party is planning to constitute a team which will study the progress of Polavaram Project and the status of the pending work yet to be completed.
The specially formed team will prepare a detailed report and submit it to the YSRCP chief, who will, in turn, take a call on the future course of action. Confirming the news to the media on Wednesday, YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy said, "A team will visit Polavaram and a detailed report on the actual status of the project will be prepared. We are confident of exposing the real side of this corrupt government".
"According to the AP Reorganisation Act, Polavaram Project has been declared as a National Project and the Central government has promised to look after the completion of the project taking the full responsibility of getting clearances. But, Mr. Babu has negotiated on this and expressed his will to take the responsibility of Polavaram project. Had this move helped us?. Further, the Central government's stance was to release funds based on 2014 estimates but the State government delayed the process citing increased estimates, which now stands at Rs 58,319 crore. Such delays will only increase the estimates without any actual development of the project", he added.
