World Food India 2017 – Kichidi To Become Brand Food Of India

Ministry of Food Processing will be hosting World Food India 2017 during the first week of November. It is an opportunity to promote various dishes by India’s best chefs. As a part of this event, Ministry of Food Processing will promote India’s favorite food – Kichidi. It will be promoted as ‘brand India food’.
As per Food Processing Minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, “Khichdi is the wonder staple food of India and is considered the healthiest prepared food in India and it is being eaten across length and breadth of India by rich and poor.”
Khichdi is age old traditional dish which symbolises India’s great culture. Kichidi, the ‘queen of food’, is made of rice and lentils.
Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that the event has attacted over $10 billion in the food processing sector and more investments are likely to be committed by the end of the event. This event will find the leaders of top food processing and retail companies speak about India as an investment destination and the massive opportunities in its food economy. They share highlights of India’s steady economic growth, available resources, business-friendly policies, and large consumer market from their experience.
World Food India 2017 will find participants frpm over 30 countriess and companies like as Nestle, US based Hersheys and GSK Consumer Healthcare along with many global CEOs.
