Vijayawada Transit: APRTC Bus Fares Reduced

The APSRTC serve more than 2 lakh people daily in the Vijayawada metro city and operate in 115 routes with occupancy of 60%. Now to improve its services and make it more attractive the corporation has reduced the base fares with effect from August 1.
This rationalization of the city bus fares has been necessitated to combat the abnormal increase in competition from the private transport in the city. Similar fare rationalization has been carried out Visakhapatnam and it gave positive results.
The reduction of base fare from the present Rs 8 to Rs 5 in metro services and similarly from Rs 7 to Rs 5 in case of city services besides rounding of small denominations will increase the passenger traffic to the corporation.
