Vijayawada, Oct 27, 2017: Vijayawada residents woke up to a horrible news today. At least three people were killed and seven others were injured when an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) bus lost its brakes and ploughed  through the traffic. At around 6 am,  APSRTC bus reached the Singhnagar Budameru Bridge, and while it was speeding down the bridge,  the driver allegedly lost access to the brakes or the brakes failed. This led to ramming of the bus to the two-wheelers. Singhnagar Budameru Bridge is an important connection in the city scape which connects Singhnagar to other parts of the city through the busy railway tracks
As the video camera installed on the bridge, it is seen that the bus ploughed through the two-wheelers and crushing the victims. The are identified as Shaik Kursheed Begum, 35, and her daughter Shaik Asra, 12, who were killed instantly and G Veera Chandra, 32, of Nunna  who succumbed to injuries.  Seven other injured are admitted to the Government hospital for treatment.
