US Ambassador pay visit to Vijayawada, and Amaravati town


Mr. Kenneth Juster , Ambassador of US , visited the ancient town of Amaravati and he was explained about the Heritage Centre and museum by Chief Curator Prof. A. Galla. He is  taken round the Buddhist sites and explained about the project and restoration work in progress at the museum. He also saw the precious Buddhist relic caskets and also went around the Mahastupa.

Prior to that , the Ambassador had glimpse of the architectural history of the area at the Undavalli caves before heading to Amaravati.

Mr. Juster praised the development activities in AP and work of the US mission in India. The Ambassador discussed with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat about the developments in Andhra Pradesh besides ties with the U.S.

He expressed the earnest sympathies of the American people on the passing away of Ms. Chennupati Vidya a well known women’s’ rights activist and former Lok Sabha. He offered flowers to a portrait of Ms. Vidya and also visited  the stalls set up by women mentored through her.
