Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Movie Review

Average Ratings: 3.50/5

Run Time: 2 hours and 35 Minutes
One of the most anticipated Bollywood flicks, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha, directed by Sree Narayan Singh and starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles is out in the theatres. It is a romantic story with a strong message about the lack of toilets in rural India. The movie is based on a satirical comedy in support of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with emphasis on open defecation.
Review: There are quite a few praises for Toilet Ek Prem Katha including the Director Sree Narayan Singh for his tale-telling skills and natural chemistry between the lead roles. But the intensity of the tale is lost in the political agenda with many references to Swachh Bharat and even demonetization. Overall, Bollywood’s wait for a blockbuster hit this year will have to continue as the audience felt the Toilet a bit clogged in the second half. But given the nature of the film and its intention (political agenda aside), we recommend it as a ‘must watch’.
