Stop hiding and open the Parliament: Rahul Gandhi to PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has on Tuesday took to his Twitter handle to express his dissatisfaction over the government not conveying the Winter session of the parliament on time. The Central government has postponed the winter session of the parliament, which generally begins by the end of the third week of November and continues till the third week of December, citing elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
Taking a serious note of the postponement, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said that the Central government is worried about the irregularities in the Rafale deal, which the opposition is prepared to expose on the floor of the parliament. “Citing elections as a reason is not fair. You are worried about the irregularities in the Rs 59,000 crore contract for 36 French Rafale fighters. It is because of that fear you have postponed the winter session of the parliament”, Rahul Gandhi said.
Further, the future President of the Indian National Congress (INC), Mr. Gandhi said that the Prime Minister is actually not allowing the democracy to prevail by not opening the parliament.
On the other hand, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley dismissed the allegations of the Congress party. “It is a common practice to postpone the parliamentary session to another date whenever there are elections around. Even Congress did this when they were in power. It is their thirst for power which is forcing them to make allegations on Rafale deal”.
