State of India’s First High Speed Train – Tejas Express

India’s first high speed luxury AC train Tejas Express was recently flagged off by railway minister Suresh Prabhu from CST for Goa. The train will run on the Mumbai-Goa route five days of the week. The speed train which can run at an impressive speed of 200 Kmph, ushers a new era for the Indian Railways.
The train has state of the art facilities like LCD screens, WiFi enabled, various vending machines, snack tables, smart windows with automatic blinds, GPS based passenger information display system among others. However, after the first trip itself, the train has lost headphones which were distributed and has damaged infotainment screens with untidy floors.
With few days of operation, people were appalled to note unhygienic coaches with tattered newspapers thrown around and floors littered. Per reports, passengers aren’t just littering the train but also stealing the taps and toilet kits fitted in compartments.
