Shut down JNU – BJP leader Subramanian Swamy

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy on Friday once again suggested the closure of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi.

Swamy told reporters during a private university program in Thaltej, Ahmedabad, that the government should take a big step towards JNU. For its cleanliness, it should be closed for at least two years and when it starts, its name should be changed to Subhash Chandra Bose University.

He said that the good students should be transferred to Delhi University or others before the bandh and the huldabas should be excluded. Swamy said that there are already many institutes named after Nehru, hence the name of JNU should be changed. Swamy claimed that terrorists and foreign elements are also behind the violent opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Citizenship Register happening in JNU and elsewhere.
