HYDERABAD: It is already known that the former Telugu Desam Party MLA, Mr. Revanth Reddy has changed his allegiance to the Congress Party. As per the media reports, the dynamic leader has offered his resignation to both TDP and the Legislative assembly. But, the twist is the Telangana Speaker is yet to receive the resignation letter!
According to the procedure, Revanth Reddy has to forward his resignation letter to the Telangana Assembly Speaker, who in turn will accept or reject his resignation as per the law. Speaking on the issue, Telangana TDP President L Ramana said that Revanth Reddy has to offer his resignation letter to the speaker of the Assembly in person. "He gave his resignation to the party Chief Chandrababu Naidu. But, for resigning as an MLA you have to forward it to the speaker. I hope that Revanth will do it as soon as possible".
On the other hand, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is busy planning strategies to conquer Kodangal constituency, headed by Revanth Reddy. For this, the ruling government has entrusted the responsibility to Ministers Patnam Mahender Reddy, Lakshma Reddy and Jupali Krishna Rao. Rumors are that the ministers are focusing more on attracting the party cadre of opposition ahead of the by-poll in Kodangal.
At this point, Kodangal by-election may turn out as a pre-checker for the TRS government as they prepare for the general election in 2019.
