MUMBAI: Star Shuttler PV Sindhu has on Saturday expressed her anguish and dissatisfaction over IndiGo's groundstaff for alleged 'rude behavior' through a series of tweets on her official Twitter handle. Sindhu said that she was treated rudely by a groundstaff named Ajeetesh, on 6E 608 IndiGo flight. She further added that the person in question also behaved rudely against an air hostess who tried to intervene during the conversation.
"I am sorry to say this but I had a very bad experience today while on board to Mumbai from Hyderabad", she tweeted. "The groundstaff behaved rudely despite repeated attempts in explaining him my side. If this continues, I do not know what will be the future of IndiGo", she added while describing the whole incident through a screenshot.
In reply to her tweet, IndiGo responded in a cooler note saying that the groundstaff did their duty for the overall security of the passengers. "We have inquired on the issue and found that Ms. Sindhu was carrying a baggage which was overweight and not even fitting into the overhead bin. We have immediately informed her of moving the baggage to the cargo hold of the aircraft. This is done for the overall security of the passengers and for a safer journey. Our groundstaff remained silent throughout the conversation and there wasn't any scope for rude behavior from our side. We respect PV Sindhu and her achievements for the nation but our policies remain the same for every customer", the Airlines said.
PV Sindhu's father Mr. Ramana was also on the same flight accompanying his daughter. He clarified that Sindhu was upset over the overall behavior of the groundstaff despite cautioning them of the importance of her baggage. "She was carrying her practice kit with racquets inside", he said.
