In an effort to bring Amaravati to International map, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu proposed Emirates hub in Amaravati while speaking to the Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Adnan Kazim. As the Government of India is planning to dis-invest in Air India, there is a good opportunity for private airlines to improve their activity in aviation sector. Further, as new capital is coming up in AP and the people from upper middle class are tending to use air travel, the air traffic in the state is likely to increase many folds in near future.
Explaining the above cited business prospect, AP CM Mr. Naidu, has requested the Dubai based Emirates Air lines through video conferencing, to make Amaravati and Vizag as their airline’s hub.
The AP state is contemplating to promote Visakhapatnam and Amaravati airports as greenfield international airports in collaboration with private enterprises. The objective behind this is to on improve air connectivity between cities in Andhra Pradesh and Dubai. Mr. Naidu has plans to meet Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of the Emirates during his visit on October 22.
