After the much-awaited release of Padmaavat, many film pundits opined that the Deepika Padukone starrer will break the record of Baahubali for highest opening day collections. Thanks to the publicity that the movie got due to controversies. However, despite that Padmaavat failed to break Baahubali record on Day 1.
Coming to the details, if we look at the record of Baahubali 2: The conclusion, the film amassed a net of Rs 125 crores on its first day in the whole of India. Specifically, when looked at the collection made by Baahubali in just Hindi version of the movie, it stands at Rs 41 Crores. Interestingly, even the recently released Salman Khan blockbuster 'Tiger Zinda Hai' failed to reach Baahubali's record, collecting a total of Rs 34 Crores on its first day.
Padmaavat, on the other hand, made a net of Rs 19 Crores on its opening day. Though the movie faced issues in the States of Rajasthan and Haryana, it is visibly clear that even then the collections would not have crossed Rs 25 Crores. On the movie front, Padmaavat has garnered good reviews from the critics and is expected to go ahead with the same intensity for the next two weeks.
