Nandamuri Harikrishna, Laid To Rest With State Honors

Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of N.T. Rama Rao, former Rajya Sabha member, and Telugu film actor’s funeral was held at Mahaprasthanam, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. The former MP and minister was given full state honours during his last rites.
Harikrishna died in a road accident at a place in Nalgonda district of Telangana state on Wednesday early morning. His age was 61 years. The vehicle he was traveling was moving fast towards Andhra Pradesh, on the Narketpally-Addanki State highway. After the accident, his body was taken to Kamineni Hospital, 15 km away from accident spot and he was declared “brought dead” by doctors. Arikapudi Shivaji, co-passenger who accompanied Harikrishna said that Harikrishna was driving the car at a high speed. Since he was not wearing the seat belt at the time of the mishap, he was thrown out of the car.
The trio started off from Hyderabad at 4:30 am today, to attend a marriage in Nellore district. Shivaji and Venkat Rao escaped unhurt with minor injuries.
Mr. Nandamuri Balakrishna actor and MLA, Smt. Daggubaati Purandeshwari MP and his son Junior NTR and other family members were present at the Hospital. Harikrishna Played a very important role in developments of the newly founded party along with his father NTR. During the party’s internal crisis, Harikrishna was on the side of Mr. Naidu.
Harikrishna was one of the few politicians who strongly opposed bifurcation of the Telugu State. In the course, he tendered his resignation to Rajya Sabha membership.
