After a number of roadblocks and criticisms, the Telugu version of 'Mersal' starring Vijay is titled as 'Adirindhi' is slated to be released on November 9. The movie has created a lot of buzz before the release due to some controversial dialogues in the movie, which takes a critical viewpoint of the Central government's key policies like Digital India and the GST.
Initially, the movie was planned to be released on October 27 but was postponed due to an infamous political pressure. The Censor Board has kept the movie in pending for a long time until today, finally giving a U/A certificate.
Telugu version of Mersal has already got enough publicity through social media with fans sharing a video of the Tamil version (alleged to be controversial), with English subtitles. The video created some positive waves as the dialogues questioned the policies of the Central government in a constructive way.
However, it is not yet clear on whether the censor board allowed the controversial dialogues to stay uncut. Directed by Atlee Kumar, the movie features Vijay, Samantha and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. A.R. Rahman composed music to this bilingual flick, which shows SJ Surya playing the villain role!
