Mayawati Resignation From Rajya Sabha A Desperate Attempt For Survival

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief, Mayawati’s resignation saga from Rajya Sabha is a desparate attempt to revive her dalit ticket for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as per political analysts across India.
Her dalit support in UP is dwindling by the day which is evident from the recent UP elections humiliation. BSP currently has 19 memebers in the Vidhan Sabha.
The rise of Bhim Sena has become her another pain point as it is eating away her core supporters, the Jatavs.
The BJP is trying hard to eat into Dalit voters through a series of measures, including the master stroke of nominating Ram Nath Kovind as a presidential candidate. By resigning to Rajya Sabha, she want to project herself as a martyr for the Dalit cause and campaign for 2019 elections with that agenda.
