Helicopter Crash at Badrinath: A Crew Member Killed

A helicopter carrying five passengers crashed as it was taking off from Badrinath in Uttarakhand today. The incident happened at 7:45 am today. All the five passengers were safe, the pilots were injured and one of the crew members was killed in the crash. The crew member who died was an engineer, said one of the officials at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Delhi.
Superintendent of Police Tripti Bhatt, Chamoli said that the crew member who died was hit by the rotor blades. The person who died was Vikram Lamba from Assam.
The helicopter was on its way to Haridwar but it lost balance while it was taking off and crashed. The air pressure was not sufficient because of which the helicopter lost its balance and fell down.
Sanjay Wasi who is the pilot of the helicopter suffered with a slight back pain while co-pilot Alka Shukla sustained minor injuries.
The pilgrims belonged to Vadodara in Gujarat and had left for their homes after the incident.
Helicopter Augusta 119 belonged to Krestal Aviation which is an operator based in Mumbai.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that the matter would be investigated soon.
