Ethanol Production will End Crises in Agriculture: Nitin Gadkari

Ethanol is domestically produced alternative fuel most commonly made from corn. Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari said that the Petroleum Ministry took the initiative to get pacts signed with 15 industrial units for bioethanol production.
The government of India is contemplating a policy on production of second generation ethanol from biomass, which may help the farmers also to get extra income from their farm waste instead of burning the agricultural wastes which will add up pollution.
The minister said that while the 2030 mission was to make cars and scooters electric, ‘we need diesel for commercial vehicles besides cleaner fuels.’
