DRDO scientists should work hard for innovations: Nirmala Sitaram

A function has been organized on Transfer of technology at NSTL (Naval Science and Technology Laboratory), which is part of DRDO, Visakhapatnam on Saturday. Participating in the programme, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman exhorted the scientist to work hard and develop new technology so that innovative and sophisticated defense equipment can be produced indigenously.In this way, dependency on imports can be reduced.
Further, she said that we must increase our defense exports and should show results to our countrymen as the funds used on research is taxpayers money.
It was pointed out by her that NSTL has only three patents so far and there is every need to improve the research activity and the capacities and capabilities should be fully utilized at DRDO labs and new things should be produced to realize they make in India dream.
