Owaisi says Allahu Akbar as MPs chant Jai Shri Ram

New Delhi : ‘It is not important to see how many people in the opposition are in Parliament. I want the opposition to take an active part in the activities of Parliament. It is imperative in a democratic system. “It is my wish to work together for national development,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday, the first day of parliamentary sessions. The ruling BJP MPs have no idea how much his inspiration means to the opposition.

Telangana MP Asaduddin Owaisi was on Tuesday sworn in as Jai Shriram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vandemataram if BJP MPs were to take oath as a Member of Parliament. Even Proteem Speaker Virendra Kumar could not avoid them. The Owaisi swore in the middle of the slogans, and then shouted: ‘Jai Bhim, Allahu Akbar’. The slogans in the name of Indian constitutional producer Ambedkar, as Jai Bheem, have scolded BJP members. BJP MPs did not act inappropriately towards Owaisi. They dealt with all the members of the opposition as well.

Shafiqar Rahman Bark of Samajwadi Party MP also shouted ‘Jai Sriram’ as he was taking the oath of office. He was reprimanded as “Constitution Zindabad”. HT Hassan of the same party had the same experience and chanted ‘Hindustan Zindabad’. Similarly, the BJP MPs in West Bengal and the Tamil Nadu DMK MPs on Monday swore by the Prime Minister’s inspirational speeches when they were sworn in. Congress MP Sonia Gandhi thanked her for swearing in Hindi. Even there she is reminded that she is from Italy!

BJP MPs feel they have exceeded the norms of Parliament, winning 303 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats. If they are not sympathetic to the opposition,
