Bill To Modify Immigration System, Reduce Green Cards

Tough news for Green card aspirants in the USA. Yet another bill has been proposed by Republican Senators, David Perdue and Tom Cotton to make massive changes to the U.S. immigration system. A per this proposal, the current employment-based immigration system will be replaced with a merit-based system, similar to Canada and Australia. The details of the program were not clear yet, as to what happens to the people who are already waiting in EB-2 and EB-3 categories for years together. The proposal will also eliminate the diversity lottery system and reduce the number of family-based immigrant visas.
Also, Trump Administration has planned to cut the immigration by 50% by the numbers. President Trump has announced his support for this bill. This bill will go through the rigorous congressional process to become a law. This is among many other bills which are proposed by the Trump Administration, which may not see the day light, ever soon.
