Babri Masjid-Ram Case: Supreme Court, Kapil Sibal, Owaisi and Mohan Bhagwat

Babri Masjid-Ram Case: December 6, marks the 25th anniversary of the demolition of the mosque in Ayodhya, UP. Yet the case is still languishing in the Supreme Court. A three-judge bench of Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justices Abdul Nazeer and Ashok Bhushan adjourned the final hearing to February 8, 2018. The court also denied the appeal of Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who was appearing for Sunni Waqf board, to postpone the hearing plea 2019. Sibal sited that the impact of the verdict on the next General Election.
Speaking on the occasion, Sibal said, "this is a trap and the court should not fall into it. Somebody is pushing the party manifesto", referring to BJP leader Subramanian Swamy.

Meanwhile, Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Supremo and Lok Sabha MP, Asaduddin Owaisi lamblasted RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for his comments on Ayodhya. Mohan Bhagwat stated that only Ram Temple be constructed at the disputed site. Mr.Owaisi said, "who gave permission to Mohan Bhagwat that he announced in Dharm Sansad that only a Ram temple would be built there and nothing else? Who is Mohan Bhagwat? If you are saying so to intimidate us, remember that we cannot be intimidated". Speaking at Dharm Sansad, Mr. Bhagwat made strong announcements regarding Ram Temple at the disputed site.
Owaisi said that the Sangh Parivar is using Ram temple to save Narendra Modi in the 2019 elections. He said that it trying to polarize the voters and justified Kapil Sibal in Supreme Court that the hearing of the title suit be deferred till the elections.
