AP Nuclear power project in jeopary

US-based Westinghouse Electric Company has committed to build the 6,600 MW nuclear power project at Kovvada in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. The company has recently filed for bankruptcy which has put the entire venture in jeapardy.
As part of the civil nuclear liability agreement between India and US, agreements are made for building six nuclear reactors at Kovvada. The troubled company has been put up for sale by Toshiba, but didnot find a successful prospective buyer.
But the company had said that Chapter 11 will not impact its operations outside of the US, including the projects in India. Looks like AP will have to wait and see how things fold in the next few months.
