With the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Defence, the research centre for innovating military technology has been launched at Andhra University. Inaugurating the centre, President Ram Nath Kovind has said Andhra University will become a technology hub and would play a key role in the progress of the country.
The University has rich heritage and one of its Vice-Chancellor Mr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishna has served the country in the capacity of President of India.
The President felt happy to note that 40% of the students in AU are women and it stood a fine example of gender balance in the country and it is a welcome symbol for women empowerment.
Participating in the programme Mr. E.S.L. Narasimhan, Governor of A.P. and Telangana and Chancellor of AU said that Cyber terrorism will be the major challenge in future and this R&D centre will help in curbing it as the centre is focussing on research of problems related to cyber security also.
