Vijayawada resident can breathe a sigh of relief now, at least for now. The long awaited Benz circle bridge works have commenced with bhoomi puja MP, Kesineni Nani. The flyover cost was estimated at of Rs. 515 crore and the project initiated back in 2015 but never took off. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is responsible for the 1.6 km long flyover project.
The Benz Circle is one of the busiest junctions where two highways meet and also traverse through the local traffic. The flyover is expected to ease the obstruction from local traffic and avoid usual accidents and delay. The government has set a deadline of August 15, 2018 for the completion of the project. Hope this will not turn out to be another Dugra temple flyover which is running late by an year or so.
