Amit Shah’s Convoy Attacked In Tirupati: AP Special Status Movement

Amaravathi / Chittoor: The blame game on the attack on the BJP national president Amit Shah, who is returning to Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy, is on. Tension prevailed at Tirupati on Friday as alleged TDP workers staged a protest against BJP president Amit Shah and stones hurled at one of the vehicles in his convoy. As per the reports, TDP activists demand Special Status by shouting slogans and pelted stones.
AP CM Chandrababu quickly condemned the attack on Amit Shah and issued directions to the party leaders to immediately suspend the TDP leaders in the attack. Chandrababu had advised the leaders that there should be no violence in the special status movement.  “Don’t bring disrepute to the party by such acts of indiscipline. Everybody should act in a disciplined manner. There is no place for clashes or tensions in our just struggle,”  Chandrababu Naidu said.
Deputy Chief Minister (Home) N China Rajappa told reporters that some “unidentified miscreants” hurled a stone that hit one of the vehicles in Shah’s convoy. “No stone hit Shah’s vehicle. The stone hit another vehicle behind Shah’s car. We don’t know yet if some miscreants posing as TDP workers resorted to this act,” he said.
BJP Telangana state unit president Dr. K Lakshman  targeted TDP government and said,  “It is a preplanned attack. The government should prove its sincerity by suspending the police superintendent who failed in his duties”.
