Mr. N. ChandraBabu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Mr. Amit Shah, BJP National President flagged off new advanced life support ambulances. Mr. Prabhu donated an ambulance to each one of the 13 districts under his MPLAD scheme. Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) is a scheme formulated by Government of India on 23 December 1993 that provides that each member of parliament of India has the choice to suggest to the Head of the District works to the tune of 5 crore per year, to be taken up in his/her constituency. These ambulances would be used for trauma care mainly in the rural areas. They are equipped with tele-medicine facility and have other equipment needed to help victims of road accidents.
